Pepys
Pay-as-you-go AI transcription for audio and video
Pepys transcribes audio and video of any length for people with real recording backlogs, from long meetings and interviews to podcast seasons, legal recordings, and social clips. Instead of a subscription, you pay for the hours you actually use. Transcripts come with speaker labels, timestamps, and AI notes, and a cleanup step strips filler sounds to leave readable paragraphs.
You can upload MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV, and most other formats, paste a link or an RSS feed, or process a whole batch at once. Recordings can also be imported from Google Drive, OneDrive, Zoom, Dropbox, and Box, and no bot has to join your meeting. Pepys detects the spoken language and can deliver the transcript in another one, and an AI chat lets you ask questions of the transcript. Developers get API and MCP access. The site notes GDPR compliance and states that audio is never used for training, which matters for interview and legal work in this productivity category.
Pricing is pay as you go with no subscription: the first 60 minutes are free with no card required, and the first three cloud imports are free. Upload a recording to use the free minutes and judge the transcript quality against your own audio.
