Plot Factory

An online story planner that lets you create fictional universes, forge rich characters, and write amazing stories

Plot Factory is an online story planner where writers build fictional universes, develop characters, and draft manuscripts in one workspace. It runs in the browser with no installation, and the site stresses that it is optimized for phones so you can write from anywhere. The three pillars are planning, organizing, and writing: sketch a plot or jump straight into a first chapter, keep complex projects in order, and write in an advanced manuscript editor.

A writing stats tracker records daily, weekly, and monthly word counts and shows progress toward a goal you set. The site also promotes narration of your stories with life-like voices, which explains the text-to-speech tag and its placement in the Music & Audio category in this directory. A newer version called Plot Factory Studios is announced on the homepage as the next iteration.

Sign-up is free according to the site, and a pricing section exists, but the inputs do not show what the plans contain, so the full pricing model is unclear. Register a free account and try planning a single story's universe before committing to a longer project.
