AI Tools for Game Development and Play
A small category covering both making games and the AI that runs inside them. On the production side there is asset generation for art, audio, animation and 3D models, plus tools for writing quests, dialogue and lore. On the runtime side there are systems for NPC conversation and behaviour that respond to players rather than following a script. Around those sit no-code game builders for people who do not program, and analytics or playtesting tools that find where players get stuck.
Engine fit is the first filter. A tool that exports into Unity, Unreal or Godot in a usable format saves real time, while one that produces assets you have to convert and repair by hand often does not.
If you plan to ship commercially, read two sets of terms. The licence covering assets you generate, which decides whether they can appear in a paid product, and the storefront policies on AI-generated content, which increasingly require disclosure.
